Happy Summer 暑假愉快！
Summer is just around the corner!
Reading over holidays is so much fun, because we are reading for enjoyment. Reading doesn’t have to mean sitting at a table with a boring school book for a set amount of time each day. You can easily “sneak” reading into daily activities, such as reading holiday cards (and writing a message in outgoing cards,) reading ingredients from holiday recipes (when you bake together,) or a short holiday story before bedtime.
The research is clear that children who don’t read during the summer can lose up to THREE months of reading progress! Furthermore, such loss has a cumulative and long-term effect. That’s why we encourage you and your little ones to keep the habit of reading during the long summer holiday.
